Professor, DrMSc Søren Nielsen, Dept. Biomedicine and Professor, DrMSc Jørgen Frøkiær, Dept. Clinical Medicine have via the company of Action Pharma sold a research result of 623 million DKK. Both patients and investors will benefit from the sale and is an example of how basic research can be used in concrete terms.

Record-breaking grant: New research project to investigate the causes of mental disorders

Causes for mental disorders will now be thoroughly investigated. A new grant – the largest sum ever awarded to a Danish research team in this field – will support Danish researchers in their pursuit of understanding mental disorders. The project may also lead to new prevention and treatment methods.

Tomasz K. Wojdacz, postdoc, PhD from the Department of Biomedicine has just received the prestigious exploratory pre-seed grant of 358,000 DKK for his research in human genetics. Further information in Danish.

Postdoc, PhD Magdalena Laska receives 1.6 million from IMK Almene Fund

Postdoc, PhD Magdalena Janina Laska has received a donation of 1.6 million dollars to support research of the causes of acute inflammatory disease. The fund seeks out potential candidates, where you must hold a lecture for the Fund to be considered. Further information in Danish.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!
