Two Associate Professor positions at iPSYCH 956693

Aarhus University, Health, are looking for two Associate Professor at iPSYCH.

The successful candidates are expected to be a part of the on-going studies of psychiatric genetics in iPSYCH (the Lundbeck Initiative for Integrative Psychiatric Research; http://ipsych.au.dk/).

The candidates are required to have a strong background in handling and analysing large genetic datasets generated by SNP-array genotyping and next-generation sequencing. The candidates are expected to have experience with the identification of genetic risk factors for psychiatric disorders through genome-wide association studies and next-generation sequencing of thousands of individuals. Additionally, in depth knowledge of a range of secondary analyses of the primary association results is expected. The successful candidates should therefore have strong publication records in the relevant research field. Especially experience with identification of genetic risk factors for ADHD or autism spectrum disorder will be preferable.

Furthermore, the positions include teaching obligations at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, and the applicant must therefore be able to document relevant teaching qualifications, preferably in medical genetics.

Start date is expected to be 1 March 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, and the positions will run for at least three years, continuing with potential extensions of iPSYCH.

Required qualifications

Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at such level as can be attained following a satisfactory period of appointment as an assistant professor, but which could also be achieved otherwise. It is assumed that applicants have received supervision and training in university education and have received a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications.

  • The appointment is in accordance with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
  • Remuneration is in accordance with the above, and the Salary agreement catalogue for staff at Health.

    Applications must be accompanied by a CV, diploma, a list of publications, a research plan as well as a teaching portfolio. A maximum of ten of the publications of greatest relevance to the job must be submitted. If you have an assessment within the same job title (completed after March 1, 2016 at AU, Health), then this can be attached to the application.
