Ultrasound

Ultrasound is one of the most readily accessible clinical tools, and it is also applicable to a great variety of preclinical research. Microultrasound can for example be used to evaluate liver, spleen and kidneys, as well as to study embryology and oncology. Accordingly, the morphological and functional assessment of the heart using ultrasound, is one of the most common forms of cardiovascular phenotyping in preclinical research. Our platform offers both routine and comprehensive left ventricular assessment in rodents. Choosing what kind of assessment is needed, depends on the expected severity in your model, i.e. if hearts are expected to develop overt failure or if dysfunction is difficult to detect.
