Profil

As a Postdoc in biomedical science, I focus on how genetics affect immune responses to viral infections. I plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and work on science communication and funding applications. I hold a Master's in Infectious Biology and a PhD obtained in the field of inflammatory bowel disease and energy metabolism. I also have experience in teaching and supervision.

Forskning

I am conducting research on innate immune response of infectious diseases, focusing on genetic immune disorders. Using CRISPR techniques and patients cells, I study how inborn errors of immunity contribute to the development of e.g. multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) or excessive viral infections. My work helps to improve understanding of infectious diseases and immune responses in general.

Uddannelse

I serve as a board member of the Infection and Inflammation Young Network, where I organize both a seminar and journal club series for PhD students and Postdocs in the field. Additionally, in my role on the I&I board, I contribute to the planning of a biannual networking event and career day.

Samarbejder

I collaborate with PhD Koji Nakajima, Prof. Shen-Ying Zhang, and Prof. Jean-Laurent Casanova on the genetics of MIS-C and COVID-19, aiming to identify and characterize inborn errors of immunity that contribute to disease development. Additionally, I work with Isao Naguro and Prof. Ichijo to explore the biology of ASK1/2 signaling and its role in regulating the balance between apoptosis and inflammation.

Arbejdsområder

My primary area of responsibility is conducting research in the field of Immunology including planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data and presenting results. I also contribute to writing grants and prepare manuscripts.
