I conduct research on kidney function and electrolyte homeostasis. I use this novel fundamental biomedical research as the basis for innovation. My work focuses on acid–base and potassium balance, blood-pressure regulation, and the renal response to changes in dietary potassium and acid-base. The overall aim is to translate new physiological insights into innovative diagnostic solutions.
My research is built on close, both national and international, clinical collaborations in nephrology, cystic fibrosis, intestinal failure and renal nutrition. Together with clinicians. Our novel insights is translated into diagnostic tools. This work forms the scientific basis of Equilibrium Diagnostics (EQDx), where I serve as CTO, developing urine-based methods for earlier detection, risk stratification and treatment monitoring.
My primary area of responsibility is research in renal physiology and acid–base homeostasis, including experimental studies and clinical collaborations. I also contribute to research-based innovation, project development, supervision and the translation of physiological discoveries into diagnostic solutions.
