Innate immunology of viral infections

Welcome to the Paludan lab!

We are interested in understanding how the innate immune system detects and fight viral infections – at the molecular, cellular, and whole-organism level. With a particular focus on the brain and the nervous system, we are interested in understanding the detailed mechanisms that govern the fine blances between beneficial resolving immune responses and disease-causing pathological immune responses. 

Our efforts will contribute to better understanding of viral and inflammatory diseases and have implications for future development of improved vaccines, antiviral therapeutics, and diagnostic tools.
