I am a group leader at the Danish Research Institute of Translational Neurosciece (DANDRITE). My research evolves around deciphering neural circuits and immune-to-brain signaling mechanisms regulating affective state. In my group, we explore the function of several brain circuits and cell populations (microglia and astrocytes), using transgene strategies and state-of-the-art neurocircuitry techniques, in health and disease, such as major depressive disorder and Parkinson's Disease.
I am an affective neuroscientist and neuroimmunologist, in this function I teach and supervise students on all academic levels, from Bachelor project to PhD.
I am teacher and course responsible for the 3rd semester Neuroscience course (10 ECTS) on the medical bachelor education.
I am engaged in didactic development and often a plenary speaker within topics like Student Motivation, Flipped learning and Challenge-based learning (e.g. https://pep.cmcv.ac.in/Resources.html#Flipped-Classroom).
