Profile

I conduct research in translational MRI with a focus on improving diagnostics in cardiovascular disease through the lens of metabolic imaging. Based at the MR Research Centre, Aarhus University, my work integrates advanced metabolic imaging techniques with preclinical models to develop non-invasive biomarkers for assessing cardiovascular metabolism and function.

Research

My research focuses on cardiovascular metabolic imaging, with particular emphasis on the real-time assessment of cardiac metabolism using hyperpolarized MRI. By leveraging these dynamic imaging techniques, I aim to identify early metabolic changes associated with cardiovascular disease, enabling improved risk stratification, diagnostic precision, and monitoring of therapeutic responses. This work bridges experimental imaging with clinical translation to support more personalized approaches in cardiovascular care.

Job responsibilities

My main area of work is translational cardiovascular imaging, including cardiac metabolism, functional assessment, and biomarker development. I also contribute to projects involving surgical models of cardiac disease, image-guided interventions, and technical advancements in hyperpolarized MRI.
