I am a clinical researcher with a background in medicine and epidemiology. My research interests lie in longitudinal modelling and causal inference, with a particular focus on obesity, diabetes, and multimorbidity from a life course perspective.
I have worked with data from several large population-based cohorts, including the Diet, Cancer and Health cohort, the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children, and UK Biobank, and Danish national registers.
I primarily work on the COMP-DM project (Cognitive Function, Multimorbidity Progression and Diabetes). The project examines how diabetes and multiple long-term conditions relate to cognitive function. We use a newly developed online game-based tool to collect repeated measurements of cognitive function, allowing us to investigate changes over time in people with diabetes and other long-term conditions. By leveraging Danish registry data with data from the Health in Central Denmark cohort, we can examine how these conditions develop and interact over time, and how they relate to subsequent health outcomes.
