Three new job openings at the Department of Biomedicine, AU

The Department of Biomedicine has just opened a call for three new positions: a Professorship, a tenured Assistant Professorship, and an Associate Professorship with an application deadline on 15 March 2023.

Tenure Track Assistant Professorship

The position is a career development position with the possibility of transitioning to a tenured associate professorship. We will work together with you to develop your research talent through supervision, professional networks, and pedagogical upgrading.

As Tenure Track Assistant Professor your primary tasks will be research and research-based teaching. You will teach and supervise students at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, and you will contribute to the development of the department through research of the highest international quality. In your daily work, you will work closely with both Danish and international colleagues.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Independent research of the highest international quality, including publication.
  • Teaching, guidance, and examination of Bachelor’s and Master's degree students, as well as possible supervision of Ph.D. students.
  • Attracting external research funding.

Associate Professorship

As Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedicine, you will contribute to the department’s research and teaching environment and to the faculty’s overall teaching and research strategy. You will contribute to the development of the department both independently and in collaboration with others via your research of high international quality. You ensure that your teaching maintains a high academic and didactic standard. You possess excellent collaborative skills and a broad academic network which you are able to bring into play in your contribution to the academic development of Aarhus University and its profile both nationally and internationally.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Research of high international quality, including publication in top international journals and communicating your research in national and international academic networks.
  • Dedicated participation in teaching, examination, and supervision of Bachelor’s and Master's degree students and contribution to the development of new teaching activities.
  • Attracting external research funding.
  • Supervision of Ph.D. students and contributed to the development of the faculty's Ph.D. courses.
  • Involvement in assessment and committee work at Aarhus University.

    Professorship

    As a Professor at the Department of Biomedicine, you will have joint responsibility for the development of the department's research and teaching environment, and you will contribute to the implementation of the faculty's overall teaching and research strategy. You are expected to contribute – both independently and in collaboration with others – to the development of the department by leading research of high international quality and contributing to ensuring a high academic and didactic standard in teaching. With your excellent collaborative skills and broad academic network, you contribute to the academic development at Aarhus University and to the university’s profile both nationally and internationally.

    Your main tasks will consist of:
  • Research of high international quality, including publication in top international journals and communicating your research in national and international academic networks.
  • Teaching, supervision, and examination of Bachelor’s and Master's degree students.
  • Attracting external research funding
  • Supervision of Ph.D. students and contributed to the development of the faculty's Ph.D. courses.
  • Assessment and committee work at Aarhus University.
  • Research-based collaboration with private and public-sector stakeholders as well as research-based consultancy.
