Leadership of a research group with a vision to develop innovative gene therapy-based strategies for the treatment of retinal diseases and enhance research-based teaching.

As Deputy Head of Institute, I actively contribute to the strategic development of the Institute of Biomedicine with the overarching goal of positioning the institute as an international beacon of excellence in biomedical research and education.

This ambition is realized through the following focus areas:

  • Promote the development of gene therapy-based treatments through collaborations and advanced technology.
  • Integrate new knowledge in personalized medicine to educate future researchers and clinicians.
