Profile

I am currently a PhD student at TNU, focusing on specific molecular mechanisms involved in Alzheimer's disease (AD). My scientific skills focus on biochemistry, cell culture, and molecular imaging to better understand disease processes.

In 2023, I completed my International Master’s in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Milano Bicocca, graduating with honors (110/110 cum laude). During this time, I was awarded a full Erasmus+ Traineeship (Jan–Jul 2022), where I began working on my master’s thesis.

Research

In the HKM laboratory, led by Prof. Heidi Kaastrup Müller, I am a PhD student who is investigating the therapeutic potential of p75NTR shedding in Alzheimer's disease (AD).

My PhD project focuses on understanding the role of protein regulators of p75NTR shedding and examining how AD-associated mutations and altered phosphorylation states affect this process. The study will explore whether the induced p75NTR shedding could present a novel therapeutic strategy for AD.
