As an animal technician, I work with the daily care of laboratory mice. In my work, I primarily deal with daily supervision, cage changes, eartagging/biopsy sampling, setting of matings and weaning. I have a background in Zookeeping and have experience caring for a wide range of mammals, reptiles and birds.
In addition to colony management, I perform various technical procedures, including genotyping, perfusion fixation, and surgical assistance.
Job responsibilities
My primary area of responsibility is animal care and mantinance of trangenetic mice lines, including daily supervision, cage changes, eartagging/biopsy sampling, setting of matings and weaning. I also contribute to the inner workings of the SPF unit, with storrage management, ect.
