The Laboratory Animal Core Facility in Skou was taken into use during summer 2019, and all animals were rederived by IVF, ET or caesarian section, or were sytematically tested to confirm absence of specific and opportunistic pathogens.
The Facility is
- dedicated to providing state-of-the-art services and advice and support for biomedical and pre-clinical research and teaching using laboratory mice and rats for employees and research groups at Aarhus University and external collaborators and companies
- comitted to continuously securing and developing best practices for animal welfare and effectuating the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement)
- staffed with specifically trained and qualified animal technicians and veterinarians
